About JRP Hunter

JRP Hunter is an independent price-comparison tool and buying guide for the Japan Rail Pass. The pass is sold by many resellers at different prices, in different currencies, with different delivery options and refund rules, and the cheapest sticker price isn't always the cheapest once fees and exchange-rate markups are counted. We built JRP Hunter to make that comparison honest and quick.

What we do

• Track live prices from trusted resellers for every duration (7/14/21 days) and class (Ordinary/Green).
• Convert everything to a single currency at the real market rate, so you compare like for like.
• Surface the things sellers bury: delivery fees, payment fees, exchange-rate markups, and refund terms.
• Help you decide whether the pass is even worth it for your itinerary, versus individual tickets.

How we stay independent

Rankings are determined purely by price and value, never by commission. Some links to resellers may be affiliate links, which can earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you, but this never changes the order or which sellers we show. We explain this fully in our disclosure.

Our methodology

Prices are collected automatically and refreshed regularly; conversions use daily market exchange rates. We hide prices that are implausible (a sign of a bad reading or wrong currency) rather than show you a misleading deal. Prices can change at any time, so we always link you to the seller to confirm before you buy.
